First Transatlantic Radio Signals
The photograph shows Marconi at Signal Hill,
St. John's, Newfoundland, seated beside the apparatus
that he used to receive the first transatlantic radio signals
on December 12, 1901.  The object near the corner of the table
probably is the telephone receiver on which he heard the signals.
